Pediatric care is a priority at Santa Cruz Direct Primary Care. We are dedicated to the wellbeing of children and to ensuring that all kids develop to their optimal physical, emotional, and mental abilities. We provide comprehensive primary care, in the context of family care, for children of all ages. Our practice offers a low-stress environment for the continuum of care -- from routine well-child visits, to episodic chronic care, to work-in appointments for acute illnesses and injuries. At Santa Cruz Direct Primary Care, pediatric care is designed to enhance access to care and to promote continuity, so that your child gets the prompt medical attention they deserve, from the doctors they know and trust.
Geriatric Care
We believe that the vitality, happiness, and wellness of our senior patients are best supported through a personalized doctor-patient relationship. This partnership engages our senior patients in their health, and helps them address the unique challenges and decisions they face. As family physicians, we are knowledgeable and experienced in geriatric care and attend to common acute and chronic health issues. We provide the much-needed support and advocacy that our senior patients and their families need in order to manage the complex medical, psychological and social changes of this stage of life.
Hospital Care
A trip to the hospital can bring anxiety and uncertainty. We believe that having your doctor at the bedside is essential to receiving optimal care in the hospital setting. As family physicians, we are knowledgeable and experienced in the care of hospitalized patients. We are committed to the continuity of your care -- we will attend to you during your hospital stay, and ensure appropriate plans are carried out upon discharge. In addition to providing direct care to you, we will coordinate any specialty care you need, and serve the critical role of advocate for you and your family during your hospitalization. We are on active staff at Dominican Hospital where we have held prominent roles on the Family Medicine hospital service.
Acute Care Management
Getting sick or injured is not convenient, but getting the care you need should be. At Santa Cruz Direct Primary Care, we provide responsive scheduling and prompt attention for your acute medical concerns. We treat a wide variety of common illnesses and injuries. As a convenient and cost affective service to our patients, we offer several diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and dispense selected prescription medications on-site.
Chronic Care Management
Chronic Care Management is one of the more important tasks of any medical practice. At Santa Cruz Direct Primary Care, we believe that a personalized, supportive doctor-patient relationship is the foundation for optimal care. Toward that end, we provide the much-needed support and advocacy that our patients and their families need in order to manage the medical changes and the social determinants of their chronic health conditions. We offer counseling and services for a variety of chronic medical conditions, including but not limited to hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, heart failure, cardiovascular disease, asthma, depression, and other common conditions.
Procedures
We believe that common procedures should be part of routine primary care. At Santa Cruz Direct Primary Care we administer a variety of in-office procedures to assist us in the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic medical conditions. Moreover, we believe that procedural care should be affordable. As such, we provide these procedures free of charge, as part of your membership. Simple and transparent. This design not only provides convenience and cost-savings, but it reaffirms our philosophy of direct care.

We utilize evidence-based, age-appropriate counseling and screening to foster a healthy lifestyle for women. Through personalized discussions and shared decision-making, we help our patients identify specific goals and resources for achieving meaningful change. As your health advocate, we will assist in coordinating care and connecting you with specialty care outside the office if needed.

Telemedicine
Never before has accessible health care been so vital. Telemedicine is remote medical care. It allows you to consult with your physician without leaving your home. Telemedicine consultations can take place over the phone, through online portals, via our Spruce texting app at Santa Cruz Direct Primary Care. There are many reasons why an in-person trip to the doctor’s office may not be possible, but with the assistance of telemedicine so you can still get the care you need from the comfort of your home.
